lamar and i sampled four of the brooklyn brewery offerings with a quite greasy pizza from luigi's this weekend. i was really suprised by all of these beers. which can only mean that repeated future tastings are in order.

ale (blue label) - fairly standard for an ale. a good, balanced taste, with nothing going too over-the top. a good drinking companion for flavorful (but probably not spicy) foods. i'm going to come back to this one as a reference.

monster ale (silver label) - i was suprised to find that the taste of the monster ale didn't betray the 11% alcohol content nearly as much as i thought it would. i could certainly taste the extra alcohol, but it fit well with the overall taste of the beer.

pilsner (orange label) - this may be the mildest pilsner i've ever had. maybe it just seemed that way in comparison, but it didn't have nearly the bite of a pilnser urquell or a bitburger pils. this would probably be a great beer for massive consumption.

weissbier (green label) - again, perhaps this suffered by comparison, but it tasted weak and watery to me. i would certainly have preferred a paulaner, fransikaner, maisels, or julius echter over this one.
