i am straight up in d-land bonn to be precise with christian and suprise guest ben buxton.
yesterday was 33 hours of wakeful fun, aboard flites from jfk to heathrow and then to köln. and i met some famous folks (to be named later) on that last one. i met up with christian and ben after riding the 670 bus to the bonn hbf and we wandered through the narrow, pedestrian streets of the old bonn city kernel. picked up some groceries at a german-style discount store (think aldi) named "plus" and at the local produce market in the square. christian's apartment is so white as to be nearly mediterranean, but very cool, and well situated. i mean, any place with a fire-breathing arabian clown prince out front has something special going on. ben koched up some indische dosai, which were pancake + mashedpotato soft tacos to be dipped in spicy tomato stewage. the three of us finished off the night with five ergonomic 0,2L gläser of bönnsch each, and some aqua teen. it was a good period of time.
this morning i slept, and then had some pastries and cheeses and bread and juice and water. i had really forgotten about how many different things germans will put on bread. and the variety of bread itself. yeah.
i eat, drink, and occasionally think in nyc
